Local library, project cards, tags, previews, file lists, and project packages.
Import cleanup, package structure, thumbnail speed, and drag behavior are still being refined.
Tell us how you name projects, store variants, and prepare files for printing or selling.
Why folders get messy
A normal file folder works at first. Then every model gains a version, a remix, a photo, a print profile, a source page, and maybe a customer note. After a few hundred downloads, it becomes hard to know which file is the latest, which image belongs to it, and whether the model is ready to print.
How MakerHoard approaches it
- Keep STL, 3MF, images, notes, videos, and source links attached to the same project package.
- Single click a project to see the right-side preview module.
- Double click a project to open the project folder and work with the original files.
- Use tags and metadata to find projects without remembering the exact folder name.
What we are still improving
MakerHoard is in beta. Some import flows, ZIP handling, 3D thumbnails, and marketplace collection behavior still need testing on real libraries. We would rather say that clearly than pretend everything is finished.
What should we build next?
If you organize STL files in a specific way, tell us. Useful feedback includes your folder structure, how you name variants, whether you use Bambu Studio or OrcaSlicer, and what takes too many clicks today.
FAQ
Is MakerHoard only for STL files?
No. STL and 3MF are important, but the goal is to keep all related project files together.
Does it replace a slicer?
No. MakerHoard organizes and previews files. You still use your slicer for slicing and printer settings.
Is it cloud based?
The beta is local-first for Windows. Your library is meant to stay on your own machine.
